Today In Class I started on a new course which is called Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1! I finished chapter 1-part of chapter 2! I will Post down below what I had worked on! I didn’t get that much done because I had career center and I finally finished my Financial Literacy class!
Chapter 1
In Chapter one it taught me how to use clipping groups and how to use alpha channels! It also showed me how to use different types of layer masks! Then it showed me how to work inside of Bridge and how to organize bridge more! Here is a picture that I had worked on in this chapter!
What I had done in this image was that I made the shadow look more realistic! The first thing I had done was that I went inside of the Alpha channels and then I selected the shadow outline that the course proved me with and I moved it inside of my layers panel! After that I added a layer mask and I used the Gradient tool to give it a small gradient. Then I went to my Filter pulldown menu and selected Gaussian Blur! After that I kept using Gaussian Blur until I got the outcome that I wanted!
Chapter one wasn’t that big of a chapter but I did learn more about clipping mask and alpha channels! That is all I had done today!
Chapter 2
In Chapter 2 I started working on a picture design!

What I had so far was that I cropped the picture by using the Rectangular Marquee tool and going to the Image pulldown menu and selecting crop! After that I used the Patch tool and the Clone Stamp tool to get rid of some of the people and the truck! I just selected the people and I painted them away! That is all I had done so far!

Today In Class I worked some more on the course Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1! The chapters I had finished today were chapters 2-part of 4! I will post down below what I had gotten done.
Chapter 2
Today I finished chapter 2! I learned how to work with selections and how to make a cool scene out of different tools!
Here are some pictures I had worked on in that chapter!
First
I took the picture that I had worked on in the beginning of chapter 2 and I opened it in Photoshop! After that I took the Magic Wand tool and selected the window! After that I went to the Select pulldown menu and selected Save Selection! After that I used the magic wand tool again and I selected the sky and then I right clicked on my selection and chose layer via cut! After that I added an Hue/Saturation adjustment layer! I darkened the sky and the buildings a little bit! After that I took the pen tool and selected to parts of the buildings to add a little bit of a shadow! After that I added an Levels Adjustment Layer to those selections! After that I selected Load Selection and my windows selection came back! After that I took the Gradient tool and created a light in the window! Here is what the picture looks like after all of those actions!
Second
I took this picture that I had just edited in the last step and I added some clouds and a moon to the picture! The first thing I had done was that I took a picture of some clouds and I moved it into my photograph! After that I resized it so that it fit my picture perfectly! After that I added an Hue Saturation adjustment layer so that i t would look like nighttime! After that I gave it a Levels adjustment layer as well! After that I took the moon picture and I used the elliptical marquee tool to select part of the moon! After that I moved that selection into my photograph and I resized the moon and then I added a small gradient to make it look like the moon is shining! After that I added an outer glow to the moon and I also changed the Blend mode on the clouds layer to screen! That is all I had done! Here are the pictures I used and the finished picture!
Third
In this step I created the chimney smoke by using the paint brush! I was not granted the drawing skills when I was born, but I did the best I could! What I had done was that I went to the cloud layer and I selected part of the cloud to use as the smoke! I saved it as a Brush preset so that I could use it to make the smoke! After that I just painted with the tool I just made and that was all I had done!
Chapter 2 was a lot of fun! I learned how to take different pictures and I learned how to make them into a cool design!
Then I started on Chapter 3!
First
I took these two images and made an island out of them! The first thing I had done was that I selected the castle and the mountain and then I deleted the rest of the background! After that I took the clone Stamp tool and I painted the trees all around the castle! After that I took the eraser tool and deleted the rest of the mountain that I did not need! That is all I had done!
Second
Then I took a picture of a root and I deleted the top part of it and then I deleted the whit background as well! After that I resized the canvas size and I rotated the root so that it would not be lopsided! After that I painted with the brush tool to create cool looking shadows! After that I added the island that I had created before and placed that on top of the root!
Third
I took my island and I placed it in this picture!
After that I cropped the picture and then I added an Hue/Saturation adjustment effect to that as well! Then I added an shadow to the bottom of my island to make it look like it was actually floating in the air! After that I created some more shadowing by using layer mask and by changing Blend modes and Opacities! Then I just made sure that the island was where I wanted it and that was all I had done!
Chapter 3 was a lot of fun! I liked making a design with different photographs!
Chapter 4
First
The first thing I had done in this chapter so far was that I took two pictures which is down below and I created a plateau! The first thing I had done was that I deleted the background that the rock came with and then I opened the landscape that I wanted and I made a selection and moved that layer around until it fit the rock perfectly! After that I was done!
Second
I took the same picture that I had finished up above and I made the cracks from the rock picture show a little bit more by painting in the layer mask with black! That is all I had done!
I didn’t get chapter 4 finished yet!

Today In Class I worked some more on the course Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1! The chapters I had finished were chapters 4-part of 6! I will post down below what I had done!
Chapter 4
I finished chapter 4 today!
First

what I had done in this step was that I took some trees and grass from different pictures and brought them into my design! The first thing I had done was that I used the quick selection tool, the Rectangular Marquee tool , and the Magic Wand tool to select the parts that I wanted to keep! Then I moved them into my design and I added layer masks to make them look like they belong there! Here are the pictures that I had used for that step! I also added the castle that I had worked on yesterday!
Second:
In this step I created the water fall and I added a new rocky side to the cliff! The first thing I had done was that I opened a picture that had a waterfall in it and then I went to the Channels panel and selected the waterfall because the video already provided me with an outline! So I loaded the outline and then I moved it into my photograph! After that I added a layer mask to my waterfall and I made it fit more into the picture! After that I opened another picture and used the Rectangular Marquee tool to select the stone and I moved it into my picture as well! After that I used the burn tool to make some shadows on the stone! That is all I had done! Here are the two pictures I had used.
Third
Next I added a background! The first thing I had done was that I selected the top layer and while holding down the option key I pushed merge layers visible! After that I moved the new layer that was just created and I moved it into my background picture! After that I cropped the picture a little bit and I added a layer mask to bring back the bush little bit more! Here is the picture I had used for the background!
Chapter 4 was really fun! I learned how to take different pictures and create a cool scene!
Chapter 5
First
What I had done was that made a selection with the Magic Wand tool and then I used the Rectangular Marquee tool to get rid of the birds! After that I inverse the selection and made that selection into a layer! After that I took a dried up landscape and I used the Free Transformed command and Made it to look like the land! After that I chose two colors and I made a Linear Gradient with the Gradient tool to give a spacey kind of effect! Then I added a Hue Saturation adjustment to the picture to change the color of the rocks and the land! Here is the Dry land picture that I used!

In this step I added some buildings! The first thing I had done was that I selected all of the buildings with the Pen tool, the Elliptical Marquee tool, and the Magic Wand tool and then I moved them into my image! After that I just resized them and made sure that they fit properly in my design! After that I used the Burn tool to make some shadows on the buildings and rocks! Here are the pictures of buildings that I had used in this step!
Third
In this step I started to create a planet for my design! The first thing I had done was that I opened a new document and I used the Elliptical Marquee tool to make a circle! After that I filled it with black and then I went to the Filter pulldown menu and I chose Fiber! I added some fiber to the circle to give it a planet look! After that I added a liquify effect to it also to make it look like there is life on that planet! After that I was finished!

Next I resized the Canvas and then I took the eclipse tool and created two paths! After that I went to my path channel panel and filled and stroked my different outlines! After that I brought it into my design!
What I had done was that I brought them into my design and I rotated them to look like they are actually far away and then I lowered the opacity on both layers and then I added a layer mask to my rings and I made them fit around the planet some more! After that I added a clipping mask to my rings to give it some shadow by using the brush tool and blurring the brush stroke! Then I added a layer mask to my planet to make it sort of disappear! After that I added an Inner Shadow to my planet to give it some shadow! After that I was finished!
Fifth
Then I finished the last steps! What I had done was that I desaturated the buildings little bit more and then I blurred the skyscrapers a little bit more by adding a Gaussian blur effect! After that I added a new layer and added a gradient to give it a cool dusty effect! Then I lowered the opacity to 33%! After that I added a new layer and I added an adjustment called Clouds! That added a cool foggy effect to my design! I changed the Blend mode to Screen and lowered its opacity down to 33% as well! That is all I had done!
Chapter 5 was really fun! I learned how to add different effects to a layer and how to give pictures a cool look!
Then i had some time left so I started on chapter 6 but did not get it finished!

In this design I am creating an island! The first thing I had done was I got two pictures of a rock and I loaded the Alpha channels that the videos provided me with and I loaded them into a selection and I moved them on to my ocean! After that I moved them around until they were where I wanted them to be! Then I duplicated the small island and moved the duplicate under the original layer! Then I lowered its opacity and then I added a motion Blur, and a Gaussian Blur to make it look like it is actually a reflection! That is all I had done! Here are the pictures that I had used in this step!
I did not get to finish chapter 6!

Today In Class I worked some more on the Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1 course! The chapters I had finished were chapters 6-part of 7! I will post down below what I had done in those chapters!

In this step I added a beach spot on my cliff! The first thing I had done was that I found a picture that I wanted to use and then using the Lasso tool I drew around the part of the beach that I wanted! After that I moved it into my design and I added a layer mask and I blended it into the scene! That is all I had done! Here is the picture that I used for my beach picture!

Next I made the planets and I put them into the background of the image! The first thing I had done was that I opened a new document and then I took the ellipse tool and I made a sphere! After that I filled it with black and then I chose two colors and then I went to the Filter pulldown menu and under Distort I chose Clouds! After that I did the same with the moon planet as well! After that I moved them into my design and I lowered both of their opacities and then I added a layer mask to make the planets fit together! Here are pictures of the planets!

Next I added the secret base! I took a part of a dam that was in a picture and I moved it onto the side of the mountain by using the lasso tool and the move tool! After that I added a layer mask and I made it look like it is actually in the mountain! After that I had a picture of an entrance to a tunnel and I used the Lasso tool and I selected part of the tunnel and I moved it n the side of the mountain! After that I added a layer mask to also make it look like it belongs there! After that I used the lasso tool and the burn tool to make some shadowing! That is all I had done! Here are the pictures I had used to make the entrance!
Chapter 7
First
The first thing I had done was that I selected the plane! I used the Pen tool to make the selection and then I deleted the background! After that I added the logo! I moved it on top of my plan and then I entered free transform so that it fit on my plane the right way! After that I went to the Edit pulldown menu and selected Warp and I made the logo look like it was actually meant to be on the plane! Here are the pictures I had used in this step!

Next thing I had done was that I moved the plane into the scene! I used the move tool to move it into the forest and then I added a layer mask to make it fit into the trees! After that I added a new layer and using the Brush tool I painted with different colors to make it look like the plane is actually crashed! That is all I had done!
Third
In this step I made some scratches and I made one of the propellers break! The first thing I had done was that I took my brush tool and I painted little gray scratches all over the bottom of the plane! Then I added a Bevel and Emboss to the scratches to make them look real! After that I took the polygonal Lasso tool and I drew how I wanted the propeller to be broken! So after that I went to the Layer pulldown menu and selected New Layer via cut! After that I was finished!

Today In class I worked some more on the course Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1! The chapters I had finished today were 7-8! I will post down below what I had done in these chapters!

In this step I broke the glass of the plane! The first thing I had done was that I took the pen tool and I made a broke looking selection! After that I added a new layer and filled that selection with black! After that I added a Bevel and Emboss to give it a stand out effect! After that I worked on the propellers a little bit more by using the burn tool I got rid of some more of the propeller! That is all I had done!

In the next step I added some highlight and some moss! The first thing I had done was that I added a new layer and made it a clipping mask so that it only showed up on the plane! After that I went to the Filter pulldown menu and under Render I chose Clouds! After that I added a layer mask to that layer to make it only show in some parts of the plane! After that I added a Hue Saturation adjustments to the plane and to the propeller! After that I added a new layer and I used the Brush tool and I created all of the moss that is on the plane! That is all I had done!

In this step what I had done was that I took a picture of a puddle and I moved it inside of my image! After that I added a layer mask to that layer and I painted away some of the picture so that it looks like it belongs there! After that I duplicated the airplane and added a layer mask to it so that it looks like a reflection! After that I lowered its opacity to 57% and then I took the Burn tool and darkened everything! That is all I had done! Here is the picture that I had used to make the water

In this step I made the moss stand out more and I also made the fern stand out more! The first thing I had done was that I went to the Moss layer and I added a Drop Shadow to the moss so that it will stand out more! After that I went to the fern layer and I went to the Select pulldown menu and I chose color range! After that I chose all of the greens that was standing out and I made a new layer out of that selection! After that I added a layer mask and made the Fern stand out from behind the plane! That is all I had done!

Chapter 8

In this picture what I had done was that I combined two different pictures to make a ocean! The first thing i had done was that I opened the first picture that you see above and I added a Hue and Saturation to it and then i added in the second picture by moving it on top of the other ocean! After that I added a layer mask and a Gradient to make them fit all together! After that I added a layer and added a gradient to that layer to make the sky! That is all I had done!

In this step what I had done was that I created one of the buildings that is going to be in the scene! The first thing I had done was that I went to this picture:
And using the Elliptical Marquee tool I selected the top of the dome! After that I moved it into my scene! After that I used the Pen tool to only select the smaller dome on top and then I moved it down to create an old looking building! After that I took the Columns of this building:
And I used the polygonal Lasso tool to select just the columns! After that I moved them into my scene and then I used Warp and I made it look like it is actually part of the dome! After that I merged the two layers together and then I desaturated them a little bit to make them look like they actually belong together! After that I added a new layer and I used the Brush tool and I painted on some grunge and some dirt! After that I lowered that layer’s opacity and I made it into a clipping mask so that it is only on the building and no where else! That is all I had done!

In this step I started adding in the rest of the city! The first thing I had done was that I took an arch way out of this picture by using the Alpha channel that the video already provided me with!
Then I took another ruin
And did the same thing as well!
After that I took those two ruins and I added them into my image! After that I moved them to where I wanted them to be and I also used the Elliptical Marquee tool to select a piece of the ruin and use it on the other part of the image! After that I Merged all of those buildings together into one layer and I added a Hue Saturation Adjustment so that they would all be the same color! After that I added a small Gaussian Blur to them and then I added a layer mask and painted away the bottoms of the buildings so that it would look like they are actually in the water! After that I duplicated that layer and I flipped it Vertical and I made it into a reflection by lowering its opacity to 20% and painting some of it away by using a layer mask! I also added a motion blur to that duplicate to make them look like they are actually connected with the waves! After that I added in the last part of the buildings which was this big column!
I did the same thing with this column as before! I just wanted it to be the main focus in the picture!

In this step I created a flock of birds! The first thing I had done was that I created a new document and then I took the pen tool and created an outline that looks like a bird! After that I filled the outline with black and then I went to the Edit pulldown menu and selected Define Brush Preset! After that I just adjusted all of the different settings in the brush options and then I added a new layer and painted with the new brush tip that I had created! That is all that I had done!
Chapter 8 was fun! I got to work with different buildings and ruins and I created a city with really simple steps!

Today In Class I worked some more on the course Bert Monroy: Dreamscapes Volume 1! I finished it today! The chapters I had finished were chapters 9-10! I will post down below what I had done!
Chapter 9

What I had done in this step was that I created the scene! The first thing I had done was that I opened my landscape which is the picture above and then I opened my lake picture and I used the Rectangular Marquee tool to select only the lake! Then I jut moved it into my landscape! After that I added a layer mask to the lake and I painted away some of the trees! After that I found the two rock pictures that I wanted and I loaded the alpha channels that the video provided me with and then I just moved them into my scene! After that I just moved them into my scene and made them bigger too! Then I used the clone stamp tool to cover parts of the island with water so that I would have a lot more room to work with! That is all I had done!

In this step I added in the castle and the island! The first thing I had done was that I took the picture of the hikers and I loaded the alpha channel that the video provided me with and then I moved it inside my scene! After that I also did the same with the castle! After that I added a layer mask and I got rid of the castle debris! After that I used the Levels and the Hue/Saturation adjustments to make the island a little darker and then I also used the Burn tool to make some shadows! After that I made the reflection by duplicating the castle layer and flipping it vertical! Then I added a Motion Blur and a layer mask so that it would look like it is actually a reflection! That is all I had done!

In this step I added some foliage! The first thing I had done was that I opened the image with the flower bush and I used the Rectangular Marquee tool to select the bush! After that I used the Magic Wand tool to select the blue and get rid of it! Then I moved it into the corner of my image! After that I added some more green on the other rock to give it some character! The first thing I had done was that I added a new layer and then I painted with the Brush tool! After that I was finished!
Chapter 9 was fun!

In this step I am creating the city! The first thing I had done was that I started with the first picture up above and made it to be my main picture! The first thing I had done was that I put the building and the sky into two different layers by selecting the sky with the Magic Wand and choosing Layer via Cut! After that I found all of the pictures of my buildings and I used the Elliptical Marquee tool and the Magic Wand tool to just select the buildings! After that I moved them into my background! After that I added a Hue/Saturation Adjustment and a Levels effect to some of the buildings so that they would have the same shading! That is all I had done!

In this step I created the sky and the explosions and smoke! The first thing I had done was that I went to my sky layer and I added a gradient to it to give it a cool effect! After that I opened a new document and I painted with my regular Brush tool and I created a brush pattern! After that I painted in the explosion on one layer and I gave it an Inner Glow and an Outer glow effect! Then on another layer I painted all of the smoke and all of the smoke inside of the explosion by just lowering the opacity sometimes and that was all I had done!

Then I added in some flying debris! The first thing I had done was that I created the brush by going to a new layer and then using the Rectangle Marquee tool and painting in black in a square! After that I made it into a brush tip and then I painted with different colors! That is all I had done!

In this step I darkened some parts of the buildings and I added a glow on the buildings from the explosion! The first thing that i had done was that I added a Levels and a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to the buildings to give it a dark feel! Then I added a new layer and gave the buildings an Inner Glow! Then I took the eraser tool and lowered its opacity to 20% and I painted away some of the inner glow! After that I was finished!
Chapter 10 was fun! I got to work with different brush settings and different pictures!
This course was a lot of fun! I learned how to take completely different pictures and merge them together to form a masterpiece!
